With the Boost, Dahon's objective was to design
an electric bike with all of the portable convenience
that thier folding bikes are famous for. After two years of research and development with the
help of Japanese motor and battery engineers, they appear to have
succeeded. The Boost folds to down to 36" x 66" only
18.5 kg, making it the lightest, most compact electric
bike on the market.
But its the Boost's ride that seals the deal.
 A 250 watt motor and unique 3 x 3 gearing system allows riders to choose from 9 different riding modes with sophisticated motor and torque sensors add power in proportion to the force you apply to the pedals.The 250 watt motor provides ample hill climbing power because of the Boost's direct drive system runs  the motorized chain through a 3-speed internal hub in the rear wheel.Unlike many electric bicycles, the Boost rides just like a standard bike with the electric drive system turned off.
The Boost drivetrain is very easy to service and consists of only three modules: a motor with integrated controller, the battery, and a handlebar controller. The controller and all circuitry inside the motor is embedded in a layer of waterproof silicon. All three modules are dealer swappable with no special electrical knowledge or tools needed to service the product.
